Granny's Pantry

Granny's Pantry was created by Brian & Jan Fleming in 1997, the year they became owners of the Harrietville General Store. Using local ingredients whenever possible, they started producing small batch runs of conserves, chutneys and sauces for sale inside the store.

It was later that year that their very successful Mountain Kasaundi was created with the support of friend Kitty Knappstein. After a few months of recipe 'tweaking' this very popular product has remained unchanged to this day. The increasingly popular Chilli, Garlic & Tomato Spread was created one year later. Other lines quickly joined these two including Dead Horse, Hot Chilli Sauce and Spicy Pear & Onion Chutney.

In 2004 Brian & Jan moved their newly established business, Granny's Pantry, into a lovingly restored 140 year-old cottage, also in the mountain village of Harrietville. A recent decision to sell off part of the property has seen 'Granny' move to the house, alongside of their commercial kitchen.

Please enjoy strolling around their property when you arrive and also take the opportunity to peek into the gift shop. The products page highlights their home-made products but when you visit you will find that they have a lot more to offer. Their gift shop has a good range that will be sure to delight, including…..

Granny's Pantry has grown from humble beginnings, but they still insist on a 'hands on' approach; from the time they greet you to the final bottling of every jar - they are there every step of the way.

Granny's Pantry prides itself on their 'hands on' approach throughout the entire process and sources locally grown ingredients, whenever possible.
