Explore the Wandi Valley & Beyond

The Magic of Wandiligong

Stepping into Wandiligong is like stepping back into a simpler time. Nestled just 6km from Bright, our valley is a National Trust-listed landscape where gold-rush history meets modern-day harvest. While the Nut Festival is the heart of your visit, the surrounding hills offer endless reasons to stay a little longer.

Don't miss while you're here:

  • The Wandi Walk: A gentle trail that winds past historic cottages, apple orchards, and the famous Diggings.

  • The Chinese Swing Bridge: A nod to our rich heritage and a perfect spot for a quiet autumn photo.

  • Local Legends: Grab a post-festival pint at the Wandi Pub or explore the local cideries and farm gates dotting the valley.

Autumn in the High Country

The Wandiligong Nut Festival marks the beginning of the Bright Autumn Festival, a season when the region truly shines. The air is crisp, the poplars are turning gold, and the local produce is at its peak.

We are proud to be part of Victoria’s High Country—a region world-renowned for its cool-climate wines, craft breweries, and artisanal makers. Whether you're here for the chestnuts or the music, we encourage you to explore our neighboring towns of Bright, Harrietville, and Porepunkah.

Plan Your Trip: For more inspiration on where to eat, stay, and explore, visit Visit Victoria or See High Country.

Stay a While

With the ANZAC public holiday following the festival weekend in 2026, it’s the perfect excuse for an extended getaway. From cozy heritage cottages and luxury stays to family-friendly holiday parks along the river, there is a place for everyone in the valley.
